The Legends of ISP: Honouring Our Former Chairmen

The Incorporated Society of Planters was honoured to welcome four former Chairmen of ISP to its Headquarters on 4 May 2026 for a special meet-up and fellowship session.

The distinguished guests were warmly received by the current YBhg Datuk Haji Daud Amatzin, the Chairman of ISP; YBrs Tuan Haji Mohamad Fadzil Hitam, Vice Chairman of ISP, and YBrs Dr Ramesh Veloo, Chief Executive of ISP, reflecting the Society’s deep respect and appreciation for its past leaders. The gathering brought together individuals who have played pivotal roles in shaping ISP’s direction and growth over the years.

Among those present were:
1. YBrs Tuan Chua Hood Chuan, AISP (Chairman, 1971 – 1972)
2. YBrs. Tuan Tan See Yeok, AISP, FISP (Chairman, 1973 – 1974)
3. YBrs. Tuan Mahbob Abdullah, AISP, FISP (Chairman, 1975 – 1976)
4. YBrs. Tuan M R Chandran, FISP (Chairman, 1984 – 1985)

The session provided a meaningful opportunity for engagement, where past and present leaders exchanged views and reflected on the evolution of the Society. The invaluable contributions of the former Chairmen, ranging from strengthening governance, enhancing member engagement, to elevating ISP’s role within the plantation sector, have left a lasting legacy that continues to guide the organisation today.

ISP expresses its deepest appreciation to all former Chairmen for their dedication and service. Their leadership has been instrumental in building a strong foundation for the Society and inspiring future generations within the plantation industry.
