The Palm Oil Economic Review and Outlook (R&O) Seminar is an annual programme organised by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), aimed at sharing insights on the performance of the Malaysian oil palm industry, its outlook for the year, and Government initiatives to strengthen industry competitiveness and sustainability.
For the first time, the R&O Seminar was successfully conducted over two days, from 12 to 13 January 2026. The programme comprised the MPOB Insight Exchange (MIE) on 12 January 2026, followed by the Palm Oil Economic Review & Outlook (R&O) Seminar 2026 on 13 January 2026. The event provided a valuable platform for discussion and exchange of views on enhancing the role of palm oil in the global oils and fats industry.
The seminar was attended by a wide range of stakeholders from the oil palm and oils and fats sector, including planters, millers, traders, manufacturers, exporters, R&D personnel, economists, policymakers, and academicians, reflecting the strong industry interest and relevance of the programme.
The Incorporated Society of Planters (ISP) was honoured to be involved in the seminar, with the Chief Executive of ISP, Dr. Ramesh Veloo, participating as one of the speakers. ISP’s participation underscores the Society’s ongoing commitment to representing the plantation industry, contributing informed industry perspectives, and supporting initiatives that promote sustainable growth and long-term resilience of the Malaysian palm oil sector.
